 New engine installation

Here our mechanic is installing a new Yanmar engine in this Cape Dory 28 powerboat. This has been such a great improvement for this owner that he literally takes his boat out for a ride every day! Re-powers, maintenance, and problem solving are just a few of the many mechanical tasks that we undertake to make our clients’ boating experience worry free and more enjoyable.

What can we do for you?

 Custom fiberglass fabrication

This viking powerboat owner, also a RI Mooring slip customer, wanted some new electronics installed on his flybridge.  Unfortunatley there was not a built in box for the screen to be installed in, but fortunately our fiberglass pro Mike Casey was on the job.  He custom built the enclosure for the display out of scratch.   The owner was amazed with the quality of the finished product. Sure looks like its been there forever.

Passport 43 Sailboat bottom stripping

This Passport 43' sailboat had its entire bottom blasted clean down to gelcoat by one of our on site  subcontractors.  Similar to popular soda blasting, this medium was actually a recycled crushed glass compound.  Sure beats sanding!

Alden 46 Sailboat electronics navigation station

This electronics refit was truly done right.  Two E-120 Raymarine multifunction radar, gps, depth sounder screens were installed along with an autopilot system.  Also, a single sideband and a brand new vhf radio were installed.  This customer now sails his boat up and down the east coast to Maine with ease and confidence.

Alerion 28 sailboat before and after hull paint/varnish

This Alerion 28 sailboat washed ashore during a storm and suffered substantial hull paint damage.  A few weeks in our marine finishes building with our paint pro Mike Casey, and this beautiful vessel was back into like new condition.  All the varnish was also done at the same time, creating a truly perfect restoration.  You could read a sign a few hundred feet away in the reflection because the paint was so flawless.

Moody 42’ sailboat before and after hull paint

After many seasons of fun in the sun, this Moody 42 sailboat was due for some new shine.  Our yard crew unstepped the mast and moved the boat into the paint shop to start work.  Mike Casey proceeded to strip, prime, paint and clear coat this fine vessel with ease.  The owner chose to keep its original color scheme, and was very pleased with the outcome.

Alerion 28’ sailboat before and after hull paint/varnish

Another Alerion 28, this sailboat was in desperate need of a new look.  With scrapes, gouges, and faded to the point that the color could not be restored, something had to be done.  The owner chose to switch from a traditional blue color scheme to a sharp metallic gray.  After completing the paint job, restoring all the varnish, and painting the bottom, this looks like a different boat.
